ABOUT
LibriCommons is a nonprofit audiobook library. We believe the greatest books ever written should be free to listen to.
Thousands of the world's greatest novels, essays, and stories are in the public domain. They belong to no one — which means they belong to everyone. But most people will never read them. Not because they aren't interested, but because reading a 600-page Russian novel requires time, silence, and sustained attention that modern life rarely provides.
Audiobooks change that. A commute becomes Crime and Punishment. A walk becomes Anna Karenina. The problem is that most audiobook platforms charge subscription fees, and many public domain titles simply aren't available in audio form.
LibriCommons exists to fix that. We produce high-quality audiobooks of public domain classics and make them available for free. No subscription. No account. No strings.
We use modern AI text-to-speech technology to narrate public domain texts. This allows us to produce audiobooks at a fraction of the cost of traditional narration, without sacrificing quality.
Every book in our catalog is carefully selected, processed, and reviewed before publication. We focus on literary classics that have stood the test of time — novels, essays, and stories that have shaped how we think and feel.
Our audiobooks are free to listen to on our website, free to download as MP3s, and free to share. The texts are public domain. The audio is produced by LibriCommons and released under a Creative Commons license.
LibriCommons is a registered nonprofit (MTÜ) in Estonia, founded in 2026. We are a small team of writers and engineers who believe that access to literature should not depend on your budget.
Our registration number is [NÚMERO]. You can verify our status on the Estonian Business Registry.
LibriCommons is funded entirely by donations. Every contribution goes directly toward producing new audiobooks. If you believe classic literature should be free for everyone, consider supporting our work.
